This topic is important to understand, especially to those who are affected by TIFs in their communities. High school students should know where their money goes in the community for they are the future adults in their communities and need to know how taxes will effect their communities. CULMINATING PROJECT Letter to the Alderman For this activity, the students will take what they have learned from the Unit and they will individually write letters to their alderman. Each letter should be thought provoking and should ask critical questions as to why things are they why they are or why things aren't how they should. This all relies on how to student interrupts the research.The students will then go on a field trip to a town hall meeting to present their letters to the alderman. Applicable Disciplines:
