Unit TIF: Tax increment Financing
Hello Freshmen! This unit, we will be discussing TIFS! From the pretty picture above, in the last twenty four years, as shown in this graph, the total amount that the city of Chicago has made from TIFS is at an all time high. $510 million in 2010 alone. Today we stand in the year 2013. What is that number at now? Where are these millions of dollars going? How do these numbers affect you and I? Join us on the quest to find out what these numbers mean and where the money is going, as well as what we can do with our findings.
This project was completed by NEIU students as a requirement for EDFN 305, with Dr. Aviles de Bradley and in conjunction with the Chicago Grassroots Curriculum Taskforce.
